Tips for keeping power tools in top condition during summer

We know we have to take care during the summer months while working outside in hot and humid conditions… the same goes for your tools!

Keep these summer tips in mind.

• There’s no way to avoid the heat outside, but make sure to store your tools in a cool, dry, well -ventilated area when not in use. DO NOT leave your tools – especially batteries – outside or in your truck overnight.

• Speaking of batteries, they are EXCEPTIONALLY sensitive to heat. Make sure you store them in a temperature-controlled space.

• When in use, make sure you avoid overheating. If you notice your tools getting too hot… stop and let them cool down a bit before you continue.

• Make sure you cool down your tools before storing.

• Clean your tools after use. Dirt and grease could make it harder to maintain a safe grip on the tool when you next use it.

AND REMEMBER, it’s not just about your tools… DON’T SKIMP on safety gear! We know it’s hot, but make sure you gear up when working no matter how hot the temperatures are!
